Should GITA and the Board of Peace in Gaza enforce social justice and equity?

If the peace plan goes through, then Gaza would be run by the Gaza International Transition Authority (GITA) and the international Board of Peace. Should they require Gaza law to recognize the rights of LGBTQ people and women? For example, should homosexuality be decriminalized and should women be ensured equality?

Though I’m sure when the new Palestinian “state” brutally oppresses LGBTQ and women there will be plenty of excuses, and it will somehow be described as Israel’s fault.

I actually do think that the GITA and Board of Peace should codify women's equality under the law as well as protections for LGBTQ people. That's assuming the peace plan goes through, and I hope it does.

I have high hopes for the peace plan. It might truly free Gaza for all Gazans. If it were just Trump running everything, then, yeah, I would have doubts. And if it ends up that way, unfortunately, the plan might not work. But I think with the involvement of the international community and with Blair involved, there's a good chance.

Aside from his pivotal role in the destruction of much of the Muslim/Arab ME arising from being Bush's Poodle and lying us all into war, Palestinians despise him. For good reason. Look up what he did while serving on The Quartet.

He is no friend to Palestinians. But he is up to his old tricks and you can bet he will personally enrich himself again at Palestinians' expense. Hello BP Gas, bye Gaza Gas Fields for Palestinians. Plus he'll get his share of kickbacks and contracts from wealthy Arab states. Just like the last time.


I doubt that the plight of LGBTQ and women in Gaza is high on his list of priorities.

And I was extremely disappointed in Blair that he went along with Junior in invading Iraq. Extremely disappointed. Maybe, just maybe Blair can redeem himself.

With the peace plan, at least we have something on the table now, and that's a big step in the right direction. I'm unabashedly in favor of Gaza going forward with an overhauled leadership, overhauled commitment to coexistence with people of different backgrounds, and a modern government such as they might achieve with input from Blair, local participants, and the international community.

This is not some plan to have a colony with the 'Authority' or 'Board' writing an entire set of laws for a new country (and remember, the idea is for the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to be a country eventually; not for the Gaza Strip to develop its own laws). If the plan proceeds, it's all they'll be able to do to stop the major violence and start basic rebuilding.

This thread therefore seems a waste of time.
