this is trump's dementia coming through.

There is no possible strategic move that can be the underlying reason for these insane directives. He is making a total ass out of himself by doing this, showing once again he has absolutely no concept of how democracy works.

If you think those close to him aren't freaking out, think again. They know when he goes, they go. Buh-bye job.

A friend of mine, who is a fairly distinguished lawyer with many publications to his name, has a little thought line that he plays out on people from time to time. It goes like this: the American system of democracy is so well thought out that it's hard to ram through it.

People here might disagree with that, having seen what we have seen with the legal system (not) holding him accountable, but the Inspectors General and now this are examples of how the system has checks and balances, tenuous as they may be.

Short time and shit starts closing down and people instantly get laid off. It's a domino effect.
People lose faith and stop spending. It only takes a week.

NIH grants, federal education funding. People get paid out of these funds. That money is no longer available, and there's no guess for how long. Those people suddenly can't pay their mortgage or buy stuff.

When all systems collapse, no system of government
can work in any fashion at all.

I see a very special kind of mental blindness in the
Republicans and the media that are enabling this.

Standing is very important without it, case is tossed. It's not the Democrats fault.
It needs to be an "injured" party.

Congress can impeach him anytime. I believe impeachment is their "remedy". But they need the GOP on board.

So it seems they would have clear standing to sue, as their roles have been directly impacted by Trump's actions.

If all we get is fog, no one can make personal, business, or financial decisions. No one can plan the next day, week, or quarter. This is a power and control grab. Privilege. And you can't say anything about it.

may stop this bullshit.

THEY ARE CLEARLY HEARING FROM CONSTITUENTS as I guessed yesterday they soon would.

Threats of "Elon will pay to primary you!" will ring hollow if their own constituents are mad as hell and may not vote for them ever again anyway.

RAISE HOLY FUCKING HELL if you are affected by this. Call them. Tell them how this affects you or those you know, your colleagues, your family.

SHITLER'S ORDERS ARE ILLEGAL.

ONLY CONGRESS appropriates funding, NOT the OMB and NOT the President.

"We don't believe in that law!", is what SHitler's Project 2025 architects told them.

DEMAND THAT YOUR REPS TAKE THEM TO COURT over it.

THE LAW IS THE GODDAMNED LAW. Whether they "believe in it" or not doesn't matter.

I am in Lincoln NE these days and both Sen's (Rickets & Fischer) have an office in the same building. I will be visiting both tomorrow in the morning.

My Rep (Flood) is nearby, so his office is going to be the final one (if I don't get arrested). All three are R's, which makes it easy for me, they will get no mercy!

Then I have been a member of the Arbor Day Foundation for years, and I'll get more coffee, and make it my final visit. After the SoCal fires, they have the resources to plant a tree for a buck apiece in affected areas. $10, 10 trees, $50, 50 trees. Everything helps, and they have boots on the ground. https://www.arborday.org/

There is an Indivisible meet-up (video) on Feb 5, and I am hooking up with them as well. Lincoln has a Chapter, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the precise location.

We also have a Democratic Office here, but I think I'm going to have to be a little more pro-active, silence is NOT an option.

You can find your local Indivisible Group by going to their site: https://indivisible.org

Don't go it alone, there is strength in numbers and some damn good ideas that can be used locally, we can stop this!

Let's crush this!
