Prescriptions for people on Medicaid

So as of now, does this mean that if someone on Medicaidtries to get a prescription filled, the pharmacy will not honor the insurance?

Not me, but someone I know is freaking.

Any answers?

I am on hold right now with State HHS hotline.

and then passed on to the private insurance companies.

ETA: I know it has nothing to do with Medicaid but it has everything to do with the federal government collection process.

5. Not necessarily - Medicaid is administered by states

with partial federal funds. I don't think the pharmacy has to get federal money directly. I hope that's true, anyhow.

7. FYI, if she is facing a life threatening emergency for lack of insulin she can go to any hospital and by law

the hospital is required to provide her with insulin or any other drug necessary to save her life or avoid serious illness regardless of her ability to pay.

Edit - He is reported to also be considering stopping Medicare from paying for kidney dialysis. If that happens then kidney ]patients would have the right to get kidney dialysis at a hospital regardless of their ability to pay.

10. Tell them that announcements today indicate -- if you believe them -- that Medicaid funding will not be cut

because of recent executive orders.

Obviously, trump will try pressure Congress to cut some funding later, but not right now.

"The White House said the pause would not impact Social Security or Medicare payments to the elderly or "assistance provided directly to individuals," such as some food aid and welfare programs for the poor. In a second memo released on Tuesday, OMB officials said funds for Medicaid, Head Start, farmers, small businesses and rental assistance would continue without interruption."

I tend to believe the above, mainly because tens of millions of GOPers would be impacted too. But, it's trump, so who knows for sure?
