(52,763 posts)he has no real MI experience so people might not love him for governor but Senator is a more national office and he does have that experience.

(47,553 posts)Slotkin in the 2024 Democratic US Senate primary. It was too soon after his move from IN to MI for Pete to run for that in 2024.

(22,073 posts)But I think he can win. Love Gary Peters, and I think he's putting party first. He knows the mid terms will be good for Democrats, so this maximizes the chances his replacement will be a Democrat. And doing it so early also helps us find the best candidate.

Whitmer may also want to run for the Senate. If that's what she wants, I don't see anyone challenging her in the primary.
