Is Anybody Else Feeling Like A Member Of The Band Playing As The Titantic Sinks?......

It looks like Tr**p is methodically taking down our goverment piece by piece - right before our eyes. We're all watching it happen just like we watched the J6 Capitol insurrection on TV.

As a retired person I was feeling pretty confident before the election that Harris was going to win and I could live out the rest of my life relatively comfortably because I prepared myself for my retirement.

That's what the talking heads led us to believe. And that's why - since the election - I turned off cable news and began watching Hallmark Movies.

As I watch Tr**p implement aspects of Project 2025 (you remember that big book the Dems were showing us and talking about at the DNC convention in Chicago) I'm now just sick to my stomach that I'll also be watching my retirement accounts being depleted just as methodically.

I'm wondering what other retirees are doing to protect their retirement funds - before Tr**p buys Greenland and begins more grifting and trying to sell us Golden Eggs he's going to invent - telling us it's a good investment.

All the ships that can possibly rescue us are getting farther and farther away from our troubled ship that's listing and is in danger of sinking.

Just like the Titantic - they said our ship was unsinkable. Since Jan 20, 2025 - i'm not so sure any more.

It's looking like we're going down with the ship and the Captain with the First Class Passengers are going to be saved.

Right now I'm still holding on to a half floating door cause all the lifeboats are taken by members of Congress. Looking like everyone is just out to save themselves.

What do you suggest we do to try and protect our interests? How do we save ourselves?

I've tried to not listen to those talking heads that lulled us into this false sense of security.

But a person could only watch so many happy Christmas Hallmark Movies to feel better before Christmas is over and they're running old reruns of the Golden Girls, Fraiser and Cheers.

Fraiser has truly left the building.

I'm losing sleep and am deeply worried as to how I'll live out my last years on this planet that is flooding and burning.

I won't be on that spaceship with Elon and friends that's going to Mars. I can't afford it.

What should I do? HELP!!!

I already lost a couple of years of my retirement to the pandemic. I was a Boy Scout and did everything to Be Prepared!!! I obeyed the Scout Law!!!

I even did many Good Turns as I lived my pre-retirement life!!!

Now I'm just floating out here on this half floating door. I don't see land on the horizon. I don't think I'll make it to land that is four years away.

I'm really pissed!!!

3. I am 60

And was hoping to retire in 7 years, probably not now. I finally got it through my thick head that this was all real and called Fidelity (where my retirement resides) and told them to make it as recession-proof as possible. They said a money market fund would come the closest to that. I am almost counting the minutes until everything gets sold off at 4 pm today. I also re-financed my home improvement loan from a few years ago to pay my credit cards off for when we can hardly buy food.

I am going to sound completely nuts but I have gone farther and got a smallish freezer to fill with as much sensible frozen food as I can and have been buying a few more raised garden beds hoping to grow more. I am going to try to come up with other things, I am scared to death.
