There are probably no bigger deals in the sports world than the World Cup. The three-country 2026 bid was conceived while Obama was President, though it was officially made in April 2017.
I expect tRump's racist border clampdown will be in full swing. Can you imagine the screening going on in the visa section of the US border control? Submit three copies of your DNA. The databases, the body scans at the border? Last thing an authoritarian wants is a terrorist incident. But how competently will tRump organize it?
There will be implications for tourism. Come to the US and get swept up in an ICE raid for fun! Tour concentration camps! Will maga protest the Mexican team? Media coverage and backgrounders and documentaries will be saturation world wide.
The contrast between the US on one side and Canada and Mexico on the other will be widely noted, including inside the US.
Two games scheduled in US on July 4. All the quarter-final and up games are in the US, July 9 and after.

Amazon Prime Video will release a documentary about Melania Trump.
We started the production in November, and we are shooting right now, Melania told Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt So its a day-to-day life, what Im doing, what kind of responsibilities I have. People, they dont really know and they will see it. Its day to day, from transition team to moving to the White House, packing, establishing my team, the First Lady office, moving into the White House, what it takes to make the residence your home, to hire the people that you need.
When asked how the documentary came about, Melania responded referencing her recent memoir. The book was such a success, and Im very proud, and I get so many messages and letters [from readers] how they enjoy the book, and they would love, my fans and people, would love to hear more from me, she said. So I had an idea to make a movie, to make a film about my life. My life is incredible. Its incredibly busy. And I told my agent,
The documentary will be directed by Brett Ratner.
In 2017, Ratner was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, including Olivia Munn and Elliot Page. He denied the allegations, but has not directed a film since 2014's Hercules.
