Google is complying with President Donald Trumps executive action that renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Soon, the name change will appear on Google Maps.
In a post on X, Google explained that it has a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources. The name will be tweaked when the Geographic Names Information System, a government database of names and location data, is updated.

(39,190 posts)I will report it as an error when they change it.
Reporting the error may change the map for me personally but how am I to know what they are showing other people?
When I go to the YouTube home page I know it looks nothing like the YouTube home pages most people see. I'm always quick to use the "Don't show me any more of this shit" options on everything from junk science to talking head news and opinion.
