An unhealthy population, facing short brutish lives, is easier to control.
The billionaires aren't complex thinkers. Musk isn't brilliant, he's just very crafty. He and his buddies are focused on one thing only: power. They eat think and breathe ways to get power over everyone else. Money, obviously. But that's not enough.
One must find ways to subjugate everyone else. Create a population of illiterate, miserable fools who will be glad to enslave themselves to the billionaires.
No need for education beyond technical knowledge. They want plumbers, carpenters, software engineers. They don't want anybody to know history, literature, philosophy or basic science.
No need for a broad-based or equitable health care system. There will be doctors and hospitals for the very wealthy, and everybody else can use Ivermectin and apple cider vinegar for their care.
