The European Federation of Journalists—the largest organization of journalists in Europe—announced that they’ll stop posting on Twitter as of January 20, 2025: “We can no longer ethically participate in a social network that its owner has transformed into a machine of disinformation and propaganda.”

One aspect of Twitter was that our government used it, which is a great way to convey accurate information.

On the other hand, who the heck knows how truthful those departments will be under Trump...this is such a mess.

They have whole departments that handle social media. There's a lot to do beyond just registering with a new social network and start kicking out posts. There's a lot of automation involved - programming things like RSS feeds, etc.

Not being on x will probably help. They can put a link up and say truth without it being misdirected or a dog pile of magas on it. Maga doesn’t want the truth.
