She had never attended public school and was very against it. After that, no one should be surprised by anyone Trump selects.

(3,036 posts)1. Has Trump even nominated a woman for his 2025 Cabinet?
I feel like he's going to make a point of not doing so.

(120,813 posts)2. He has - Kristy Noem of murdered puppy fame for DHS
and Russian asset Tulski Gabbard for DNI. So far he's managed to avoid naming any Black people, though. Housing and Urban Development would be a possibility for that, because all good MAGAs know that urban = Black. Maybe a place for Marc Robinson since he's out of a job.

Another pick running through the rumor mill: Tiffany Justice for Education Secretary.
Justice is the co-founder of Moms for Liberty, a Florida-grown conservative organization that rose to prominence for spearheading the book ban zeitgeist of the post-pandemic era and employing groomer rhetoric during debates over culture war school legislation, such as Floridas Dont Say Gay law.

Moms for Liberty among conservative groups named 'extremist' by civil rights watchdog
More than two years into a conservative push against teaching about Black history, literature and gender identity in public schools, the Southern Poverty Law Center has concluded that a dozen so-called "parental rights" groups behind the movement are extremist.
The civil rights organization particularly focuses on the largest of these, the nonprofit Moms for Liberty, in its annual Year in Hate & Extremism report for 2022, saying that it advances an anti-student inclusion agenda.
The SPLC has put it and similar organizations on its list of anti-government extremist entities, drawing comparisons between them and parent groups that attempted to re-segregate public schools during the civil rights movement.

Potential Trump education secretary calls for DOE to be 'shut down': 'Put parents back in the driver's seat'
Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice has been frequently floated as a potential pick for President-elect Donald Trump's education secretary, but the same agency she could lead is also one she says should be abolished.
"Parents are the number one driver of student success. Parents were put in the back seat when it came to their kids' education. We need to put them in the driver's seat, and I know that President Trump believes that, too," Justice said Monday on "Fox & Friends First."
"Ultimately, I believe the Department of Education should be shut down. Since it was created, we have only seen plummeting achievement scores, teachers unions having more influence on our kids' education and more global interference in our kids' education. It's no coincidence that kids in Kenya are learning the same type of comprehensive sex education curriculum that they are in New Jersey, so we absolutely need to stop the waste at the federal Department of Education and put parents back in the driver's seat."

I wonder how long they will last?
