It just reaches heretofore unlikely heights of incredulity to think that all of a sudden, a majority of Americans who took the trouble to vote had decided that things were so bad that we might as well turn the place over to a comic-book villain as a last resort. If he couldnt fix it, as he said he and only he could the first time we made that mistake, then he must have a do-over attempt. That would be only fair. And if he and only he couldn't fix it, then just let him trash it; it couldn't have been worth saving, anyhow.
So, with the help of Putin, a handful of very rich men several of whom owned, among other things, big swathes of media, they could pull off the biggest and most nefarious long con ever conceived, and do it by selling the most overripe scenario ever concocted, a narrative so whacko and out there that its very implausibility would keep people from questioning it.
They were so convinced that their plan was going to work, they let Trump, the candidate, act like a clown and a madman as he went around to talk to the MAGAs, to tell them they didnt have to vote, and also to tell them that would never have to vote again if he was elected. He told women he would be their protector, and as if that wasnt bizarre enough when it was so well known that a big majority of American women were sure not going to buy that, he later added the chilling phrase whether they like it or not.
snip//
But they had, after all, managed to stock the Supreme Court with people who had a very kinky view of the Constitution and the law. They had managed to take away "settled law" that granted women the right to decisions about their own bodies, and now we're all probably going to get RFK Jr. as the guy who'll decide what vaccines we can have. Or can't. Seem nuts to you? Well strange things are happening.
But stranger things have happened than my paranoid little conspiracy theory about an election being rigged from top to bottom by an international cabal of very powerful and wretchedly wealthy men aided by an army of clever and amoral techies. As implausible as that might seem.
Surely, it never happened. It's easier to believe that we're all just crazy now.

November 15, 2024
Honorable VP Kamala Harris
The White House
Office of the Vice President
1600 Pennsylvania Ave
Washington DC 20500
Dear Madam Vice President.
This is my second Duty to Warn Letter regarding hacking of the 2024 Presidential Election. The first letter on November 7 was directed to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Officials. Both warnings are made per DNI Clappers 2015 directive to all agencies and contractors associated with intelligence and financial agency technologies to warn of suspicions of hacking.
Professionally I have worked as the CEO or CTO at seven high technology firms including two which specialized in hacking and counter-hacking operations. My clients have included numerous governments DoD, DHS, Dept. of State, F100 Financials and F500 Industrials.
I am a lifelong Republican who has long placed service and participatory democracy over party. In government, I have twice been invited to SoCom to give lectures on electronic warfare and techniques to find terrorist money laundering and gave a keynote speech of the National Counterintel Summit on this same topic. I served as an after-action reviewer of communications and data failures on 9/11 under the direction of Jim Woolsey and FDNY Commissioner Scopetta, and later co-wrote multiple hacking risk analysis of Smart Grid technologies for the Obama administration.
You should reverse your concession, call for both a full investigation of criminal activity and demand hand recounts in all seven swing states.
In my professional view there are multiple and extremely clear indications the Presidential vote was willfully compromised.
I wholly agree with the public letter of Duncan Buell, et. al. of Nov. 13th stating they believe there is a possibility of hacking and calling for hand-recounts.
https://freespeechforpeople.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/letter-to-vp-harris-111324.pdf
This letters clear call to action is commendable, but its cautious tone may belie the severity of what I believe has happened. In my view it is a near certainty the results have been changed at a scale which reversed the US Presidential Election. They imply there is a chance a hand-recount will show you won more votes. I am stating a hand recount will most likely show you did win. Both letters call on you to act.
In my view, a capable and skilled series of exploits, electronic tools and hacks were used to change the Presidential vote in all seven swing states. These activities have reversed the outcomes in at least Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. I will lay out the basics of the attack, starting with unusual elements within the results. I will then outline two processes which could have been followed to insert these false results into the system. Finally I will outline how I would recommend investigating.
Unusual elements within the results.
The results of the attack are improbable in the extreme and well tailored to the sole benefit of your opponent.
Approximately 600,000 votes are for Donald Trump but with no down ballot choices. These are either inserted bullet ballots for the Presidential race or manipulated data fields. They are surgically added to totals in limited jurisdictions and within only the seven swing States. This historically unprecedented set of numbers found in the 2024 swing states is absent in every other state. In AZ, MI, NC and WI the effect of these drop-off votes reverses the voters' will and even more improbably always pushes the winning margin beyond the mandatory recount numbers. It is a result too perfect for belief. It is a bespoke and programmed outcome. In other states including PA and NV, removing these strange and bespoke added votes, it appears Donald Trump may have won the cast votes but within a margin which would force recounts. The inserted votes raise his totals, to avoid any scrutiny during mandatory recount results which would have slowed his claim on the Presidency. In GA and FL the same pattern exists with unclear impact on the results.
This attack is not technically difficult. It is modest in scale. It would require:
Modest and common computer programming skills.
Access to 10-100 tabulators or to the handful of facilities programming them in advance.
A credible database of voter IDs of non-voters around which to create false ballots.
Perhaps as few as 1, but more likely 3-5 human program managers.
Access to eBollBook Data during the election to determine who had not voted.
(Possibly) Human access to some tabulators during counting.
If I was asked to lead this hack, I would expect to have a core team of 6-10 people, and operating costs under $10M with a timeline of 3-12 months.
The tell: A historically absurd number of Trump-only bullet ballots or undervote ballots.
There are always a handful of voters who cast a vote in one race which they care about, and do not make other selections on the ballot. These are called bullet ballots. In Presidential Races since 1980, these bullet ballots rarely account for more than 1% of the total votes including in Mr. Trumps winning 2016 election and losing 2020 election, and when they do it warrants further investigation. In 2024 in the 43 non-swing states, bullet ballots make up a nominal >1%. In the seven swing states the numbers are so high to be unbelievable, unprecedented and demanding of further investigation. Here is analysis from totals as of late Nov. 12th
Here are the unprecedented results of drop-offs in the two western swing states:
AZ - 123K+ 7.2%+ of Trumps total vote. Enough to reverse the outcome.
NV - 43K+ 5.5%+ of Trumps total vote. Enough to exceed recount threshold.
It is my belief these two states have illegally added votes.
For comparison, examine Trumps 2024 results in three states which border AZ and NV. They have equally passionate Trump supporters, but have the normal levels of drop off or bullet ballots.

(11,407 posts)This is not like Trump's crazy ass theories about his obvious loss to Biden. Trump's claims were about the electoral college votes being wrong and changing the results of the vote. Then when that didn't
work, he went on about absentees and former prisoners voting. He always attacked groups of people, attempting to get them disqualified for no apparent reason. Then when that didn't work, he tried to accuse specific election workers of ballot stuffing and other nefarious things.
He attacked specific workers and if they were people belonging to a minority, his minions used racism, misogyny and bigotry to attack them too. No court accepted his vague, racist and flimsy evidence.
What has happened here is an actual rigging of votes. No specific group of people or persons are attacked. A simple recount to ensure Trump's win is all that needs be done. No conspiracy.
If Trump won and the recounts confirm this, Trump should applaud it. It will dispell those lingering doubts that common sense dictates.
When a dementia riddled Nazi, who even cheats in games, wins an election in a democracy with a political party that has a history of voter fraud, you have to wonder how.

(10,756 posts)I just can't believe that so many people are evil. That people are just stupid has been suggested as an alternative, but even children know right from wrong, and intelligence isn't required to recognize evil. Which leaves the problem that way too many people in the US would have to deliberately go out of their way and show up to vote, and choose evil.
Which I could accept, but I refuse to do so. Everything I've been taught and all of my experiences in my sixty years of living in the US, mostly in GOP dominated areas, says that it isn't the case. So the election results create something of an existential crisis, and the most practical way to move forward is to believe that it was rigged somehow. As poisoned as that word has become, it's the only logical conclusion, unless I am living in a world I've never seen clearly, with people I never really knew. I don't think that is the case.
I'm not going to go on about it and I know there's nothing I can do to change things, but that's what I think.

(6,311 posts)rules. Stewart is right on point, for too long Dems have been so concerned about playing fair that they have allowed Rs to walk over them. He points to Garland not getting a hearing saying Obama should have just appointed him to a SCOTUS seat, the Senate abdicated their responsibility. Garland should have show led up at the SC and see Rs try stop him. Another example was the Border Bill as part of the Infrastructure Act that the parliamentarian said violated rules and Biden just accepted it. We know what Rs would have done, Barrett is an example of how they play chess while we play checkers. Seems like I, and many others, were saying this during 8 years of Bush and 4 years of Trump yet Dems have learned nothing. Im gonna be watching Netflix for the foreseeable future.

(805 posts)Republicans are fed lies about imaginary conspiracies and then look for evidence to confirm those theories.
Democrats see evidence and then investigate and try to explain the evidence.
The first approach starts with a conspiracy theory and then interprets all evidence based on the theory. Facts that don't fit the theory are dismissed or denied.
The second approach starts with observations of objective reality and then works toward a theory with further observation and testing. When facts contradict the theory it is the theory that is then altered or abandoned, not the facts.

(6 posts)This is the letter I mailed to Harris today:
I am Frank Moseley president of Unirealm Information Systems and a computer programmer with more than 40 years of experience.
All my friends and families and people who have read my posts, know that I have said it would be easy to steal a presidential election by hacking the voting tabulators.
Therefore I easily recognized what Trump's hackers did because I would do the exact same tabaluator hack of inserting fake president race only ballots on the very first tabulator run.
Likewise I know how to prove with 100% certainty that any given district tabulator has in its totals fake electronic ballots with no corresponding real physical ballot.
You bring all the district's ballots in a room and live stream the election workers and poll watchers dividing the ballots into pile "A" of presidential race only ballots into and into pile "B" if not.
You ask the district's voting tabulator for the count of the presidential race only ballots and if that number does not match the number of ballots in pile "A" then the difference is the number of fake ballots.
No ballot counting could be easier or done faster so there is absolutely no honest reason not to do it and since the Republicans "love" hand counting ballots in public they should have no objections!
Democrats repeatedly said Trump was a threat to democracy, so what is stopping Harris and every Democratic and every patriotic Republican from demanding this simple count be done ASAP?

(65 posts)I'm having a hard time believing Trump fairly won all the swing states when Harris's campaign was raising so much more money and enthusiasm, that people like Allan Lichtman and Ann Selzer who have nearly perfect track records got it so wrong. That the things Trump said about 'not needing votes' meant nothing, etc, etc. I'm also having a hard time with Democratic leadership not putting up any sort of fight or inquiry or anything, given things like multiple bomb threats from Russia, missing mail-in ballots, etc etc. I don't get people supposedly on our side who are very very quick to shut down any questions over the results and whether there may have been fvckery (the operative word being may)
"In our report, we raised concerns about a number of potential vulnerabilities that remain in our election infrastructure. Voting systems are outdated, and many of them do not have a paper record of votes. Without a paper record, there is no way to reliably audit a vote tally and confirm that numbers havent been changed. We found that thirty states use paperless voting machines in some jurisdictions, and that five states use them exclusively, leaving them vulnerable to manipulation that cannot be reconciled and reversed. We also found that many of our election systems are connected to the internet, leaving them open to hacking. Even systems not regularly connected to the internet are nevertheless updated by software that must be downloaded from the internet. Its misleading to suggest that impenetrable cybersecurity is possible; our focus must be on defending against, detecting, deterring, managing, and mitigating any effort to do us harm. Theres a grim joke: Whats the difference between being hacked and not being hacked? Knowing youve been hacked. The truth hurtsbut we simply cant afford to be naive."
- excerpt from The Truths We Hold by Kamala Harris
