Last year, my wife and I wanted to see a movie, so we went to the theater

and watched "Civil War." I was not impressed with the film, really. However, looking back, it's starting to seem more and more possible.

Did you see it? If not, you might want to. Not a good vision of the near future, I think, but worth considering as you plan.

I've always thought a civil war like the original one was pretty improbable because the ideological divisions wouldn't be between two countries comprised of entire states, but between urban and rural populations. Even the red states have blue areas, usually the large cities - and here in MN, when you get outside Minneapolis/St. Paul and environs, plus Duluth and a few college towns, it's Alabama only colder. Seems to me it would be more like The Troubles in Northern Ireland, with guerilla warfare directed at specific targets, or the English civil wars of the 17th century, with armed forces competing for specific geographical strongholds.

I suppose I should buy a box of shells for my shotgun, though, just in case.

but it's not that much cost.

The movie isn't great, but the concept is apt for the times. I hope we don't get to that stage, though.

I expect that the movie is going to get watched more now than when it was released.

The way things are going, if a right-winger shoots and kills someone , it will be deemed ok. If you’re a “lefty” you will have the book thrown at them. This will be a result of Gaetz (or someone just as bad) in charge of the justice system with the power of the President and Supreme Court behind them. They will start getting rid of all the “good” judges and replace them with Aileen Cannons. In Florida, all of the RW judges got voted back in. 15-20 years ago, our Florida Supreme Court was very liberal. Not anymore.
