Ritchie Torres blaming Democrats and sucking up to Musk

I do not know Elon Musk, never met him, and therefore have no personal feelings about him. But I never quite understood how he came to be the favored punching bag of the far left.

Whether you approve of him or not, whether you agree with him or not, the man is leading two of the most innovative companies on earth. But for SpaceX, the US would be losing the space race against China. But for Tesla, the EV industry in the US would be a shell of itself.

The country thrives on intrepid innovators like Elon Musk. Why antagonize him so intensely that you drive him into Trump’s corner and make a permanent enemy out of him? Politics should be a game of addition, not subtraction.

His nonsense is out there, he has taken other people’s ideas and passed them off as his own.
The things he has said and championed on twitter are disgraceful and that hideous cybertruck. He takes money from government and craps on his employees. He’s a mental midget with a god complex.
Stop believing in fairy tales , this man is toxic and racist .

I was inclined to appreciate what he was doing until the Twitter fiasco and his gradual alignment with far right politics. Musk did this. Nobody recontextualized who he was. He revealed himself, or dramatically changed.

I have a very fast internet speed so it didn't take long!

Ritchie John Torres (born March 12, 1988) is an American politician from New York. A member of the Democratic Party, Torres is the U.S. representative for New York's 15th congressional district. The district covers most of the South Bronx and is by one measure the poorest congressional district in the United States, as well as one of the smallest districts by area in the country, covering only a few square miles.

Torres served as the New York City Council member for the 15th district from 2013 to 2020. He was the first openly gay candidate to be elected to legislative office in the Bronx, and the council's youngest member. Torres chaired the Committee on Public Housing and was a deputy majority leader. As chair of the Oversight and Investigations Committee he focused on predatory lending associated with taxi medallion procurement and the city's Third Party Transfer Program. In 2016, Torres was a delegate for the Bernie Sanders campaign.

In July 2019, Torres announced his bid for New York's 15th congressional district to succeed Representative José E. Serrano. The district is one of the most Democratic-leaning congressional districts in the country.[citation needed] Torres won the November 2020 general election and assumed office on January 3, 2021. This made him and Mondaire Jones the first openly gay Black man elected to Congress. It also made Torres the first openly gay Afro-Latino elected to Congress. Torres was one of nine co-chairs of the Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus in the 117th United States Congress.

That's what I call "available"...

And I know everyone is required to have their own shitty, intellectually lazy finger-pointing postmortem after the election, but for someone who has zero fuckin' idea of what us Dems in the purple and red states are going through, he needs to zip it.

It has already started that all the crazy and cruel things they are going to say and do will be due to "the left" for some vague and baseless rationale.

And, the media and most of our fellow citizens will not bat an eye at it.
