several weeks ago a romance emerged in my life.
the best I've ever experienced actually,
and after I had resigned myself to giving up on such things.

and then...

a near-overwhelming special flavor of discombobulated despair
as the election result oozed into my consciousness.

but I take heart from the joyful new experiences I am having

6. we've been friends / dating on and off

for about ten years, and re-connected again a couple months ago.
This time around feels way different to me, and where ever it goes from here,
I am going to firmly embed this amazing feeling into my memory.
There's something to be said for the wisdom, experience, and tempering with age
