(17,133 posts)Since Medusa can turn one to stone, why would she need a sword. She would just grab by the Dick Johnson and make them look into her eyes.
Case closed turn them to stone!

(374 posts)the part of the anatomy removed is one these morons don't use. There's another one they care more about a little bit further down between the legs. That would be a more graphic picture.

(57,435 posts)NEW YORK, NEW YORK - OCTOBER 13: ..newly installed statue of "Medusa With The Head of Perseus" by Argentine-Italian artist Luciano Garbati stands in Collect Pond Park on October 13, 2020 in New York City. In the wake of the #MeToo movement, the seven-foot bronze sculpture changes the narrative of Medusa, offering a different take on the 16th Century Florentine bronze statue of "Perseus with the Head of Medusa" by Benvenuto Cellini. The statue was installed directly across from New York County Criminal Court, the location of many high profile abuse cases including the recent Harvey Weinstein trial.

(40,106 posts)It is a modern day response to the Middle ages stature of Perseus with the Head of Medusa

Of course, we all know that the Middle Ages artists saved material by avoiding clothing.
They were a frugal bunch.
And it gives elementary school students something to giggle at when they visit the museum.

(57,435 posts)There is a previous famous statue in Italy by Cellini which shows Perseus with the severed head of Medusa.
This new statute is the female response to that statue and was installed in NYC across, a role reversal.
It is facing the New York Criminal Justice Building.
