Senator Markwayne Mullin, an Oklahoma Republican, said on Sunday that new reporting on President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's sexual assault allegation could potentially prevent his confirmation.

Last week it was reported that Hegseth was investigated for sexual assault in California seven years ago. No charges were filed, and Hegseth has "vigorously denied any and all accusations," Trump spokesman Steven Cheung told Vanity Fair.

Then on Saturday, The Washington Post reported that Hegseth entered into a mutual nondisclosure agreement with the accuser, which included him paying her an unknown sum.

Parlatore previously told Newsweek last week that no criminal charges were filed.

(Forbes) "Mullin told CNN Gaetz showed fellow lawmakers videos on the House floor of 'girls he had slept with' and 'bragged about how he would crush [erectile dysfunction] medicine and chase it with an energy drink so he could go all night.'"

Reports are Mullin is still angry that Gaetz (and others) ousted Kevin McCarthy as SOH. Let the nomination games begin.

Taken in toto ... Pretty darned luke warm ? Hardly rising to the level of outrage and full throated condemnation. No mention of, "I won't vote .. " And looks exactly like the kind of thing that can be easily walked back .. tomorrow, next week, or later on this afternoon. As necessary.

Other hand - - there are a thousand voices out there screaming, "Why isn't the media doing their job ..?"
So, here's an example of one that's at least going around at asking senators ....

Hesgeth's explanation for the events of that night are utterly implausible. The Post comes as close as they legally can to saying that he drugged and raped this woman.
