Speaking from personal experience. The overwhelmingly white residents are aging, having smaller families, and many of their children are moving away for college and better careers. You get rid of the immigrant influx, and the towns will wither and die. Businesses will close, hospitals will close, schools will have to cut programs as the tax base shrinks.

My mom's hometown has a Jenni-O turkey processing facility that is the biggest employer in the area. 2/3 of the workers are immigrants, or children of immigrants. My mom recently retired from there, and boy did she and all the other white people bitch about about the Hispanic and Somali employees. My sister manages a Burger King, and almost all her workers are Hispanic, so much so that she and her teenage daughter have learned Spanish just from working with them so long.

Rural Red America is slitting it's own throat by turning their backs on immigrants.

We've created an economy where you have to make a lot of money just to have a dignified standard of living.
