Pete Hesgeth is a real piece of ----

I rarely use dehumanizing language and I cringe when I see other people using it but what kind of man has sex with a married woman, consensual or not, in a hotel where her husband and small children are sleeping in another room? Christian values, right?

I couldn't care less about his politics in this instance. He's a scumbag.

The idea that the woman would be looking for a late night hook-up with drunk Hesgeth with her husband and two small children in another room is not really plausible. She reports being incapacitated for several hours and having to stumble back to her room, even though she was not drinking. Her husband went looking for her. The next day, when she has a flash memory of being raped, she goes to the emergency room and has a rape kit taken, where semen in found.

None of this indicates a consensual hook-up with Hesgeth. It all indicates that he roofied her and raped her.

It's quite frankly unbelievable that this is not the absolute top story across this site and all news sites. Her friend wrote a memorandum to the transition team and copied the Washington Post upon hearing of his nomination. The woman was a Republican staffer who was responsible for taking care of Hesgeth at the Republcian Women's meeting.

The only reason she was even near his room was that he was shitface drunk, hitting on two other women, and her boss told her to extricate him and make sure he got back to his room in one piece.

but women should learn to recognize these kind of men from a mile away (and keep them at least that far away).

A former colleague told us at a meeting decades ago the senators and representatives can be influenced by the letters received by constituents. We recognize Hegseth is a piece of ****. Write in your letter to Congress and explain why. Quote the article about his sexual misconduct. If you have friends and/or family in the military, encourage them to write. A little collective outrage should start something!

UPDATE: I just sent letters to my US senators via their portals. Hope others can join me.
