SCOTUS justices as well as members of Trump's incoming admin have suggested same-sex marriage should be a state issue

From my friend Ashley Mack:

35 states have a state constitutional amendment or statutes prohibiting same-sex marriage.

Chances are your state has a ban. SCOTUS justices as well as members of Trump’s incoming admin have suggested same-sex marriage should be a state issue.

Local elections matter!

A Virginia House of Delegates committee on Wednesday approved a resolution that seeks to repeal a state constitutional amendment that defines marriage as between a man and a woman.

…someone legally married in one state travels or moves to a state where it’s illegal?

This was why courts blessed same sex marriage. That is simply a contract.

They literally can't travel to see their kids' grandparents in Italy because if the wrong one of them was in an accident, the other one wouldn't be legally recognised as the kids' parent and they could be taken away from them.

Human rights should not be determined on a state by state basis.

Can you imagine the absolute custody nightmare scenarios that would bring up? What happens when a same sex couple separates and one parent moves to a state that doesn't recognise same sex marriage?

There will be no UNITED States once all the States are functioning with sets of laws that in no way resemble each other.

Why does someone, anyone have an issue with same sex marriage, love, partnership, what ever ?

Don't like it, not for you, then don't do. That is damn pretty simple.

Yup, land of the free.
