Our Indivisible group actually did stuff - postcard parties (to mail or hand-deliver to our local & state reps), sign-waving at big intersections, arranging occasional meetings with local elected leaders, neighborhood door-knocking to promote candidates AND getting out the vote, even hosting a booth at local carnivals to hand out informational leaflets and meet people, encouraging voting and new members - that sort of thing.

I’m sure I’m forgetting something. But I feel like we did a lot, and actually, we DID! We spread the word about worthwhile causes and good candidates, AND we just flipped our Congressional district back from red to blue! So THAT’S something!

Here in Blount County, TN we were happy to vote for Dems in every office. Some elections there are NO Democratic candidates. They were all women, it was exciting. All those local women and Kamala. No one we voted for won. We live in the county, but in town a Democratic woman won reelection to city council so there was a little light.

We can not let, them, or anyone steal our joy.

Turn up a good song and dance, walk around your block and wave and smile to EVERYONE.

That is what we have to do.

I'll admit, I gave my trumpy neighbor a side-eye today, but tomorrow I'll go back to the smile and wave, but to busy to attend anything.

My family is of Hispanic descent, and although they were all born here, these xenophobic monsters have live amongst us always. They are predatory costing us more for goods and services, or denying them opportunity or paying less and expecting more.

Ask any black person if they've lived without joy in their lives because a bunch of white men killed, bombed, or attacked them in any number of ways. Physically, financially, or emotionally.

I am new to this, 30 years of marriage is still 20 years less than my husband. I'm a white, middle class blonde hair blue eyed women. I know what's been said because they've said it to me, and when these racists are confronted, they walk away in shame.

I hated the public for a long time, until I realized that there is a population that have endured this longer, with no way out. Anyone of African descent.

They pick up the pieces and keep on fighting.
Most of the high profile cases against trump were executed in public by black Americans. They keep fighting for equality no matter what and no matter who. And they do it smiling!

Now, pick yourselves up and fight these bastards along side ALL your brothers and sisters...and do it while smiling!

Maybe this is what need to bring us to a stronger place TOGETHER! working Together!
Power of the people TOGETHER is stronger than a gaggle of old perverted white weirdos!

I didn't assume anything about you.

I discussed my experience and said we, together, have to resist everything we can, TOGETHER.

It is a hard life for most of us, but the Republican party wants you to feel hopeless, helpless and stuck. You are not.

I may not even be here in a month. I may be in a camp or dead, but I will resist all the way.
I will not just lay there, and take it. If you can't resist today...rest, collect yourself, and when you can do what you can do. Smile and waive to a foe, don't buy anything from a trump supporting business, and if a trump supporter asks for help...politely decline, you are busy counting ants out back.

I was not trying to attack you. I just know we need everyone to resist, in any and every way.

I will be 54 in a few months and have been feeling the years shorten for some time now. I spent the last 4 years dreading what is happening now. What did my dread and worry get me? Nothing. So... fuck 'em. I'm done allowing them to dictate my feelings. They enjoy other people's anguish and pain, so why give them any satisfaction?

See relevant threads. Look up Greg Palast.

A while back, our house was ransacked by thieves.
They didn't take much, but we had to pay $700 for new jimmy proof locks.
We didn't torture ourselves or feel crushed because of what some robbers did.

Stay strong. I get joy from meeting the nice people in my neighborhood and at my job, and doing things to help them- or just exchanging pleasantries.

And the sky is still blue. The earth green. Breathe deeply to help with pain and grief.
I've felt bad too, but we can't let the bastards get us down, can we???
Hell no.

Republicans have been rigging elections for as long as I can remember, suppressing the vote, removing voting machines from minority areas, Illegally having the Supreme Court decide the 2000 electipn, among other things. The list goes on. There are problems with the 2024 election that need to be investigated. As an IT person, I think it's naive to think elections cannot be rigged. We need to at least investigate the possibility or we will continue to lose, if we even have another election.

but it's still the main idea what I've been saying all along. he 2006 film Hacking Democracy ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808532/ & https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacking_Democracy) showed how voting machines could be hacked. A 2020 follow-up film, Kill Chain: The Cyber War on America's Elections, which I haven't seen apparently tells of the continued attacks involving Russia, etc.

Trump always accuses others of what he's doing wrong. They stole it in 2016, tried but somehow failed to do so in 2020, and stole it again this year. Maybe losing was purposeful to rile up his supporters and cement the cult to lead up to him rigging everything for his coming administration to do whatever the hell they want.

Dems always seem ready to back down so as not to appear...I don't know. I don't know what they're afraid of. If Trump had lost, there would be no end to the blisterous, violent claim that it was stolen.

Hell, we didn't make much of a fuss. No big protests, when the most important and most ludicrous decision ever, the Immunity Decision, came down. We are pushovers and we've been pushed over the edge this time.

I bet I would hear more about demons from a Baptist than a member of the Church of Satan. Why even dwell on hate in life? In my area there were these signs that read: "Hate has no home here." I just saw a banner that said something like "Hate can't make us great." Who is hating? Do people realize that what they think about increases?

TNNURSE,

The other day, on the Indivisible National call over 51,000 activists were registered, fired up and ready to resist, persist, insist!

- We actually had numerous wins on election day.
- There is no MAGA mandate. Not by any stretch of the imagination.
- Ballots are still being counted in several states
- They have already lost 4 seats out of the house as Dump picks his cabinet and many races in California are still playing out weakening his ability to overpower the house with his bloviating and rambling authoritarian BS.
- Leopard's are eating faces on the right, faster than we can relay the stories of Trump voter's who are finally being confronted with the truth, how Dump is about to bring a world of hurt down on his own voters. DOE? / ACA? / Mass denaturalization deportation program?
- 2026 offers numerous possibilities to take the house and/or senate back.

Here is a bit of a rant. Watergate hearings my Grand mother had it on constantly. My grand father was President of the local union. I am about 10. The viet nam war is raging on the news everynight. I can’t understand all this. Nixon resigns gets pardoned by Ford. I remember that The Republicans were to fade away but they didn’t ! One of the only times I heard my grandmother swear was at Phyllis Shafley . When the ERA failed to pass. On to Reagan then Bush then Bush again then Trump. Each time there are more of us than them. In between there is punking and ratfucking going on.
IDK what we got to do... Shut him down on the next mid terms and then take it back in 2028 only this time make sure we win. Do polling research times 10. Lets start now countering the Republican points and the greivances. Get a path to win.
I knew a race car driver who was accomplished in Kung fu. Al Young ( Bardahl racing ) said when he was racing he knew he was going to win he was so focused on the goal and had the skills and the mental advantage. We need to get like this. No more of this not winning at the end. Ok Rant is done.

My mother really hated Phyllis Shafley - would make comments about how Shafley wanted other women stuck at home while she galivanted around the country! I'm sure they have always cheated, Watergate was one of the few times they actually got caught.

I'm in early stages of backing away from some longtime friendships. We've been through elections in previous years, with differences generally over policy, but this time it's different. I"m sure these people voted with the red side, meaning that they wanted some form of this disaster. The nation significantly destroyed. They have seemed like decent enough people up until now, but with this event, they have opened the door our Fourth Reich. Consequently, everything has changed now. They could have just not voted, because the impending danger was too great, which would have been honorable. But no.

Wondering how much this is happening out across the country,
