Did Bill do a segment on Trump's horrible cabinet picks? Did he mention how Trump is nominating woefully unqualified White men to these extremely important positions? We all know that he would go on a long tirade if a Democratic president nominated woefully, unqualified African American or women to these jobs.
Often, the things that Maher does not go on a tirade about is more enlightening of his biases than the things he does go on tirades about.

(36,386 posts)I noticed that he didn't call into question their qualifications nor did he mention that they were chosen primarily bc of their race and gender like he would've done if the situation was reversed. You see, this is the bias that I am talking about. Also, this is in his monologue, not his New Rules segment where he constantly scolds Democrats.

(36,386 posts)If a Democratic president made these kinds of picks, he would not hesitate to say that it was based on DEI and that unqualified women and minorities were getting special treatment.
In the link that you sent, he never mentions the race/gender of these appointments.

(10,231 posts)President Biden did pick a fairly diverse cabinet in 2020/21.
So surely you must have clips of Maher calling these picks DEI or woke. You don't have to make claims about what he "would" do since recent history provides ample footage of what he did actually do.

(36,386 posts)Compare Biden's Secretary of Defense to Trump's. Maher couldn't make that claim about Biden's picks without looking like a complete racist.

Getting mad about content I didn't bother watching for things I imagine might've been said in an alternate timeline of events is an activity whose purpose utterly eludes me.
But hey, it's a Saturday morning. I'm playing World of Warcraft at the moment. So who am I to criticize other people's use of their time?

But "Why didn't person I don't watch make comments exactly as I would like when I've imagined what they'd say in the course of alternative events that are easily compared because they already happened?" . . . is a bit goofy.
And as much as I find this hardcore anti-Maher stuff generally amusing, let's be aware of the fact that people are throwing heavy criticism of media consumption from a space that is largely preoccupied with consuming and commenting on cable news all day.
That is a house constructed entirely of window panes so thin, you start to wonder about structural integrity.

(2,843 posts)But you dont need to watch corporate media all day to know what they are doing on a regular basis. There is enough reporting on it via various sources. Just as there are several articles on Mahers attack on Democrats last night. People have a right to criticize what they find untrue and unfair, to say that they dont is just like those who cant abide criticism of Trump.

He had said before that if Drumpf won, MAHER was not going to agonize over it. In the new clips he was gleeful.
