If institutional power couldn't stop a 2nd Trump term, then what good is it?

Many of us put too much faith into institutional powers like establishment media, the SCOTUS, the DOJ, the Senate, Congress, etc. All of these institutions failed like the Maginot line in France. So, why do we still have faith in them today? No, the Senate isn't going to stop Trump. Neither is the SCOTUS. And of course, the media will pander to him as well.

The Democrats need to purge institutional thinking out of their party entirely. They need candidates who speak in raw terms and push for power. Damn institutional norms and procedures.
