Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said that former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, President-elect Trumps pick for national intelligence director, is likely a Russian asset. Theres no question I consider her someone who is likely a Russian asset, Wasserman Schultz said on MSNBC on Friday. The Hill has contacted Gabbards press team for comment.
Wasserman Schultzs comment comes as Trump has faced some pushback over some of his cabinet picks, including his nod toward Gabbard as director of national intelligence. The role is a major shift for the former Democrat who has previously been accused of peddling Russian narratives. Gabbard has expressed beliefs that oppose the conclusions from U.S. intelligence, particularly when it comes to Russia and Ukraine.
Gabbard has shared content suggesting that the U.S. was involved in Ukraine developing biological weapons. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said at the time that she was parroting Russian propaganda and that her treasonous lies may well cost lives. In 2022, she also knocked the Biden administration for failing to address Russian concerns amid its invasion of Ukraine.
This war and suffering could have easily been avoided if Biden Admin/NATO had simply acknowledged Russias legitimate security concerns regarding Ukraines becoming a member of NATO, which would mean US/NATO forces right on Russias border, she wrote on X at the time. In a 2019 interview, Hillary Clinton mentioned Russian media support in relation to Gabbard, labeling the former congresswoman a favorite of the Russians. Gabbard in 2017 met with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, who was accused of using chemical weapons on his own citizens during the countrys civil war. The meeting sparked anger among her colleagues in Congress. During her 2020 Democratic presidential campaign, Gabbard alleged that Assad was not an enemy of the United States and declined to say he was a war criminal.

They do it in the open.

(110 posts)You can make a strong case for any of them. To me, though, it seems like each announcement is an attempt to upstage the last.
In my opinion, RFK Jr. for HHS is going to be awfully hard to beat, though, considering the sheer number of people who will undoubtedly die as a direct consequence of that appointment.

(223 posts)Consider the budget and scale of the military industrial complex. There is no way a bobble head from Americas propaganda entertainment network would be able to grasp or comprehend the enormity of the job which also includes diplomacy. Its terrifying that he would be considered, might get it or even if the nomination is smoke & mirrors for something else, that Trump would play around with such important staffing issues.

(110 posts)He's also likely to crack down on women in the military, given his long-standing misogyny on the subject...and he's just a complete fucking piece of work in general. Dude doesn't even wash his hands because he doesn't believe germs exist.
And yeah, he's likely to be put in charge of the largest and most well-funded department...despite being (arguably) the least-qualified of any of these people, which is really saying something.

(72,482 posts)Theres no question I consider that Trump is trying to burn America to the
ground because that is what Trumps boss, Vlad Putin, wants him to do.
Any doubt that Putin, Russia, Musk, and ??? installed Trump and Vance by
fucking with our election? How? I dont know but somehow the voting results
were corrupted by a conspiracy of evil forces. Until they set off a civil war or
a thermonuclear exchange will our new Junta Government switch us to Rubles
or Bitcoin?
Please President Joe do something to stop this madness. Get the NSA to look
@ Musk, Starlink, Russia, the Crypto Boys, and their communications ASAP.
