of the govt by a clown car of characters with allegiance to foreign states??? Seeing the daily normalization of this horror by the media, I guess were supposed to pretend all is well.
The term enemy from within is being used by the wrong side. What will it take for the security agencies under the current administration to act to protect the Constitution from those who clearly intend to shred it?!
(The clown car is also meant to distract from the critical examination of the vote. Harris needs to take the advice given in the letter from cyber security experts - and not be distracted by the show.)
Someone with knowledge of these institutions, please explain what they might/could do to respond to a direct threat to their mission? I am, like the OP, dismayed how these active organizations could just sit idly by . . . .

(37,621 posts)And, anyone else would already be in prison for the stolen documents. The doj - under Biden - has SO FAR chosen not to take that step.
Think. Again.
(17,946 posts)...I want to point out that the doj, and those other agencies, might be within the Executive branch but they are under garland, not Biden.
In fact Biden has always been firm and clear about the fact that he will not interfere in any way with the work of the justice dept.
And yes, the doj - under gARLAND - has SO FAR chosen not to take that step, or very much of any other steps either.

(95 posts)These bodies follow the constitution. They depend on the people they serve not voting for candidates who say they are going to destroy our institutions. The voters had one simple job...
All the supposed leftists now calling for the deep state to execute a coup is disturbing.

(26,185 posts)Consider the possibility that every problem doesn't come with good and practicable solutions.
These are just other people, they don't have magic wands.
What can be done is start the civil war and take our chances with that or if Biden has clandestine death squads personally loyal to him then he can try to have a goodly number of Republicans killed.
If you are demanding some legal maneuver be spun up out of thin air then there is none.
wnylib
(24,380 posts)He would not do it, of course. That would destroy the Bill of Rights and the rest of the constitution. It would mean turning government weapons on civilians.
But, from a purely strategic perspective, starting a war now as a preemptive action would have the advantage of Biden being in charge of the military. However, the military brass who are in charge now would probably refuse to attack civilians within the country.
OTOH, Trump's policies and retaliations against his "enemies" might trigger a war anyway, after he is in control of the military.

(4,718 posts)Trust me, you don't want the CIA, DOJ and FBI acting on their own initiative according to their own independent political beliefs.
If the country is fucked it's because an unserious electorate elected an unserious president who didn't even have to lie about his plans to dismantle the government.
There's nothing the public service can do to reverse that.
Think. Again.
(17,946 posts)....are PAID to act on their own initiative, and no one is saying anything about anyone's political beliefs, we're talking about crimes being committed.

Made life miserable for any of his allies who were also suspected of crimes
Dont tell me there arent reasons to arrest Jared Kushner,
Use it or lose it applies to power.

my thought. They could quietly be making plans, but they sure arent going to make it public.
They are not foolish enough to announce it to the public!

(32,768 posts)that is not for public consumption because nothing is ready for public consumption. Ducks aren't lining up kind of thing. Someone has to push the panic button pretty damn soon. We all knew this was going to be an effed up election, and surely the effing government hasn't been sitting back watching tv, and having a beer discussing the one story every news station is reporting that day. It's flipping insane to think about, so from now on I'm not!

Im going to trust Malcom Nance on this for 2 reasons, 1) I think he is very knowledgeable about things like this 2) It allows me to sleep at night.
