Theory about the far left/far progressives

they sat out the election thinking Harris would win anyway and they could carry on as usual being the naysayers. Trump winning shocked them and they're on the back foot about how to proceed. They've been pretty silent since last Tuesday. Most of the vocal response has been from the more traditional Democratic constituencies.

I didn't sit out this election, but it is clear that status quo Democratic leadership dropped the ball.

I know some very far left voters - people who would greatly prefer to vote for an actual socialist. They all voted for Harris.

I don't think the lefties are to blame this time.

I also live in a very Blue state that went for her by a huge margin so my vote had no effect on the outcome. She was a sure win here in Washington but I can imagine that some moderates, independents, and even liberals sat it out because she was a sure thing.

Is your purpose to gloat or to marginalize out of existence left leaning thought on these boards? I know you inserted “far”, but it seems like a hedging term as I have never met a far leftist or far progressive and I consider myself as a progressive. A lot of vocal progressives are from or involved with marginalized communities and this is probably the biggest gut punch for them. It seems like this is an attempt to marginalize them further within this board. Progressives aren’t a monolithic group, so it’s kinda weird to come after them. As recent thread have taught us, not all white women, not all young white men. Maybe not all progressives too? I’m not sure who more traditional Democratic constituencies, but your language makes it sound like you want to make the Party tent smaller, not bigger. Progressive who proudly voted for Harris.
