The main interview's about to be a medical woo grift. I know Maher has his things about how medicine and heath care operate in America, but his decent ideas are always overtaken by vast over-generalizations and throwing out babies, bath water, and the toilet for good measure sometimes.

At the end of the day, it's the same advice again and again. Eat well, exercise often, get check ups and screenings regularly, listen to your body. That's it. That's the secret that these medical authors keep packaging and repackaging to make a buck ("buy my program!" ). Read the reviews of this woman's book on Good Reads. They're scathing.

Chris Cuomo and Mary Katharine Ham with their powers combined might make this one an easy skip.

Dr. Casey Means is an ally of RFK, jr.

Cuomo and Ham are Trumpers.

And of course Maher who will blame everything on woke culture. Maher's journey to being the new Dennis Miller is almost complete.

BTW What guests does Hannity have have on tonight? Since promoting the shows of right wingers is allowed here.

As you know, we consider ourselves to be the party of science/reality/data/facts, as opposed to dumb, ignorant, stupid reich-wing morons.

You're probably too busy to check it out, so here you go! "Real Time with Bill Maher" is currently the #1 most popular show on HBO and 129th overall on TV, watched by a total number of 675,000 people.

but Maher, and his guest, and RFK Jr. are birds of a feather

From today's WSJ

WASHINGTON—They are pushing for healthier school meals, sustainable agricultural practices and banning some food colorings—and they are about to shape President-elect Donald Trump’s health agenda.

Meet Calley Means and Dr. Casey Means, the brother-sister duo who have built a wellness empire by questioning some traditional medical expertise and vaccine mandates, but who have also tapped ideas more recognizable to the political left to fuel the Trump-aligned Make America Healthy Again movement.

The ascent of the siblings, who are top advisers to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has underscored the unusual bedfellows that have comprised Trump’s winning coalition.

My wife was watching the show while I was taking out the trash and putting up clothes. I passed through the room at one point and heard Maher jump to Elon Musk's defense. "Musk is the greatest engineer in the world," he shouted at one panelist.

"No, he's not," I said aloud. "Musk isn't even an engineer. He's an industrialist who hires far more talented people to work for him."

In the same way that Edison took credit for others' talent and creativity, Musk showers himself in praise.

As you said, he was a bit too willing to defend people like Musk, with the problem being exactly as you said.

But if you didn't catch it, the Overtime segment posted to YouTube was just yikes. As expected, it went way off into the weeds of health woo. Particularly once they all started talking about raw milk. "What if we dismantled FDA regulations and just played roulette with the safety of products?"

All I saw were rich people being indulgent with dumb fads, some of which are not safe. At one point, the health "expert" goes off on some tangent, "I want to be able to go to the farm and pet the cows" which was hilarious until you realize she was being 100% serious. If anyone's been around rich people in Berkeley and Marin, it's right up that alley of goofy.

They have kernels of good points in there about how agriculture, the FDA, Pharma, and the HHS work in tandem to protect monied interests at the expense of public health, but then they get to exploring the studio space and devolve into wacky.

I cut off the show. I wasn't in the mood to extend any effort looking up Overtime.

Maher thinks he's edgy. Mostly, he comes across dumber than he realizes. He has put in plenty of effort normalizing both RFK Jr. and Musk. That makes him part of the problem.

As far as "the FDA, Pharma, and the HHS work in tandem to protect monied interests at the expense of public health," it is still far, far better than the situation 120 years ago, which is where we are headed if we aren't careful.

And then you go on to say we shouldn't be confronted with 'facts' about our 'cult leader'.

Don’t confront the Maher sycophants with facts about their cult leader.

OK, let's talk some facts. Earlier, in post #4, you call him a right winger. I realize there are multiple definitions of the term, but I believe most on this site most would say they are far more in favor of the policies of R's vs. D's.

So here are some facts, show me how this makes him anywhere close to being a 'right winger'.

• In the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Maher initially endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders on February 5, 2016. Maher later announced his support for Hillary Clinton after Clinton won the nomination from the Democratic Party primary elections in June 2016.

• Maher describes himself as an environmentalist, and he has spoken in favor of the Kyoto treaty on global warming.

• In August 2019, Maher said an economic recession would be "worth it" if Donald Trump does not get re-elected in 2020. He said: "We have survived many recessions. We can't survive another Donald Trump term."

• Over the course of 20 different editions of Real Time with Bill Maher broadcast between April 13, 2018, and August 7, 2020 and in several press interviews, Maher predicted that Trump would refuse to concede any loss in the 2020 United States presidential election.

• Maher opposed Trump's Executive Order 13769, an order which banned entry into the US of citizens from five majority-Muslim countries and has hosted multiple guests, including Sam Harris and Jim Jefferies, on his show who have also opposed the order.

• He has criticized Donald Trump's opposition to immigration, including his proposed border wall, and accused him of hypocrisy, having himself married two immigrants.

• Maher has also accused Republicans of hypocrisy for opposing immigration and praising their immigrant parents, saying "You can't spend the first half of a debate bitching about how immigrants are ruining the country and the second half on the uplifting stories of your immigrant parents."

• Maher endorsed a 2014 Maine referendum to ban the use of bait, traps and dogs to hunt bears in Maine.

• Maher supports the establishment of a Medicare-for-All universal single-payer health care system, and has consistently agreed with the proposal since 2011.

• Maher supports same-sex marriage. He has referred to arguments against same-sex marriage as "bankrupt".

rants are not interesting or accurate.

He's got nothing to say at this juncture. He added to the Biden hate and picks
relentlessly on trans kids - in the guise of his hip anti-wokery.

This round it was all republican grifters.

Too bad I'm dependent on him for a laugh.

This rhymes with his hatred of trans kids.
