Rs had a 5-4 majority on SCOTUS. When RBG died, McConnell pushed Barrett through giving Rs their 6-3 current majority.

had Dem majorities in both houses for his first two years.

(One of the reasons some of us were so disappointed in the bank bailout after the 2008 crash and that the public option for health care costs was never considered.)

First, he needed a supermajority (60) . Franken was contested and wasn't seated for 7 months. Byrd was hospitalized and Kennedy died.

Unbelievable that Franken was denied his seat for 7 months and Teddies seat was taken by a nude Cosmopolitan centerfold! Ugh.
