(20,840 posts)We have to remember we are always living in the new normal. No matter what it is, it is the world younger people are growing up in - for better or worse. Girls are now surrounded by images and families that say women are equal. They are also surrounded by people who dehumanize people with skin that is not white.
I am afraid many children are being brought up to think the behavior is normal and can be excused. That is a dangerous future.

And now with Trumps election, girls and young women are facing harassment and threats from young men who think theyve been given permission to treat women as their property. How many girls will now be raped because it is the male right? The sickness in this country will only get worse as Trump elevates people like sexual predator Gaetz to national prominence.
