Not just a magnificent park, but some area is the last old growth forest in Manhattan.

(103 posts)As I was going into work today I smelled smoke. I didn't think there was a brush fire happening in Inwood Hill Park!!

(18,013 posts)My sis has lived up there for decades. We also had relatives up there even earlier.
I was in part of that park back in the early '60s.
Many visits up there to her house, and the park.
I also know Ft Tryon Park. Lived nest there decades back.
Both amazing 🌳🥰🌳 parks that are sometimes are a surprise to to those only knowing Midtown, and Downtown Manhattan.
Sigh.

On the eastern side facing residential area there was one biggish area from tv shots. Thought there was smoke on a higher up area.
