I haven't heard a word.

(101,900 posts)Not to get Trump elected, but to deny Kamala winning. That's sick. And I hope she spends the rest of her life regretting this decision.

(4,550 posts)Could have went to Harris in MI and she would have still lost.

(15,093 posts)Harris might have won a couple more states if every 3rd party vote went for her, but it wouldn't have been enough. None of the votes for Stein made a bit of difference in the outcome.

(17,133 posts)Shell be ready just in time to gear up her grifting machine for the dumbasses who vote for her. I know someone who votes for her and thinks shes a solution even though she will never be president of the United States. Only in her dreams!

(1,406 posts)Anybody that remembers the old comedy and variety shows will recall how they would bring the different acts out at the end for a final bow..
Bob Hope: let's hear it for Jill Stein everyone, isn't she great, she'll be back again in 4 years if needed.
Only in this case Trump is Bob Hope.

(1,406 posts)In 2016 the Trump campaign targeted voters they knew could be swayed to vote third party as a protest vote or just not vote at all..
So those arguing that Stein didn't receive enough votes to make a difference miss the bigger point. It's as much if not more about turning off potential Democratic voters as it is about getting people to switch to Stein. Unfortunately it worked.

(1,788 posts)Total Stein voters in Michigan, 2024 = 44,537
Trump winning margin in Michigan = 79,564
If every single Stein voter has voted for Harris, Harris still wouldn't have won.
Stein being on the ballot made not a lick of difference in the results of this election and people complaining about her at this point just look like idiots.

(1,406 posts)Which is why I posted that Stein getting votes was NOT the point.
Muddying the waters and turning off Democratic voters ie., Voter Suppression was the point.
Jill Stein siphoning off votes was just an added bonus.
Wiz Imp
(1,788 posts)Otherwise, the logic would dictate that people wouldn't vote for Harris or Stein if Stein was on the ballot, but would vote for Harris if Stein was not on the ballot. Obviously, that makes no sense.
Sure Republicans do everything they can to suppress the vote, but that is not the point in running other candidates. The theoretical point in other people running is to have people vote for the others instead of the Democrat. For that to be a successful strategy in and of itself, than that other candidate would have exceed to winning vote margin. The only way Stein could be blamed for impacting Harris' loss is if her votes added to Harris would have made Harris the winner. Of course, that didn't happen
Wiz Imp
(1,788 posts)She had zero impact on this election and will have zero impact on any election in the future.
Mariana
(15,093 posts)than about the tens of millions of Trump voters.
Wiz Imp
(1,788 posts)In a few states, the number of Stein voters exceeded the margin by which Trump beat Clinton. So at least you could argue that she may have had an impact - if she hadn't run, perhaps Clinton could have won those states.
However, this year nothing close to that happened in any state. Stein barely reached 0.5% of the total vote and just over 700,00 total votes. At this point, most of Stein's votes are for her or nobody. She's not taking votes away from anyone.
It's so easy to ignore her now. I mean, I don't see anyone complaining about Chase Oliver (the Libertarian candidate) even thouse he got nearly as many votes as Stein.

(15,093 posts)If every single 3rd party vote had gone for Harris instead, Trump still would have won the Electoral College.

What's her face (Jill Stein) acted like a snob when she visited our old co-op a few years back. She snubbed my husband (the VP there) while he was telling her how the co-op was run she just ignored him and walked away while he was talking - the creepy old snooty traitor...

(10,281 posts)... Stein is an active member/poster on Twitter. She called the election of Trump a "failure of the two-party system." She was especially scornful of one party - Democrats. I did not read the whole post.

(377 posts)Vote for Harris, Trump, third party or not vote. They did the last 3 more so than the first. Numerically Stein was not the overall reason for Harris losing but she did sow discord and pushed a narrative. I bet many in the area voted for Trump. I guess they forgot about the Muslim ban and Trump being friends with Bibi. I think more Rashida Tlaib can draw blame also. Plus don't forget those that voted in sympathy with the undecided movement.
