interesting. It relates to the way a flag would appear on a pole as carried by a cavalry soldier charging forward. It signifies always advancing and never retreating.
"According to United States Army regulations, “The full-color US flag cloth replica is worn so that the star field faces forward, or to the flag’s own right.” The flag must always be positioned to look like it is flying forward"

Edited to add that the article at the link confirms this:

In 2021, Pete Hegseth was part of the Minnesota National Guard and was called to Washington, D.C., to offer security to Joe Biden for his presidential inauguration. However, his orders were revoked reportedly due to his tattoo, which was allegedly deemed as a symbol of White/ Christian nationalism.

To your eye, the cross you've posted is the same as the one on Hegseth in the OP?

I believe that's pretty creative!

(Helpful hint: How many graphical elements are present on He-Man and how many on Hegseth?)

Or is it just a kind of plus sign thing is all the same, no matter how presented?

What does ‘Deus Vult’ mean? Pete Hegseth tattoo controversy explored in wake of nomination as Trump's Defense Secretary
https://www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture/what-deus-vult-mean-pete-hegseth-tattoo-controversy-explored-wake-nomination-trump-s-defense-secretary

"I've got Deus Vult -- God Wills It -- which was the cry of the Crusaders, on my bicep... My entire pec is a Jerusalem cross. Israel, Christianity, and my faith are things I care deeply about," he added.
All you need to know about Pete Hegseth’s tattoo drama

“My orders were revoked to guard the Biden inauguration. Jerusalem Cross tattoo, which is just a Christian symbol. This is the one, this right here is what got be disinvited. I never had orders revoked before,” he shared.“Listen, it’s a standard deal. You remember after January 6th everyone was in Washington D.C., like Nancy Pelosi had the parking garages full of National Guardsmen. My commander called me tepidly a day before and said, ‘Major, you can just stand down. We don’t need you. We’re good.’”

The full article gives a lot of context but won't let me cut and paste. Link above.

So, this guy believes that Christians need to defeat both the Muslims and the Jews. And, based on some of his other tattoos, it sounds like he might believe in End Times. From the Book of Revelation, he wants to hasten an apocalypse in the Middle East, which will lead to Christ's resurrection and the end of the world, when the godly Christians will go to paradise and everyone else will go to hell.

Trump just put a man in charge of our military who wants to cause an apocalypse that will bring about the end of the world.

The cross on his right bicep is Nazi, not a Celtic cross.
Deus Vult is used by Christian Nationalists.
Because, hello - Crusaders killing Muslims (and Jews along with the wrong sort of Christian Arabs) to claim the Holy Land for European Christians?

I'd be interested to hear what the troops under him have to say about him and his attitude to others. I'm pretty sure he treated them like NPCs.

Yeshua is a degenerate version of יהושע‎. Which means "God is our salvation" or "God rescues". It the original Joshua form and it's still the Hebrew format with three consonants, YSH.
