His way of cutting through an argument recommends him highly as SOS.

I would love to see him become the first gay President since Jamed Buchanan, though clearly he'd be infinitely more competent.

(I've read so as to believe it that Woodrow Wilson was bisexual.) As is the case with Buchanan, I'm sure Pete would be a far better President than either Buchanan or Wilson.

I said “Not yet”

Me “uh….” My BIL is dying on the other end of the room as I’m trying to get around this. “I just don’t think it’s time yet”
FIL “maybe the next election?” He likes Pete
Again BIL has tears watching this.
Finally I said “I’m not sure a lot of people are uh ready for his husband….”
FIL “Oh!”

FIL is in his 80’s but he’s open minded. Good Bew Deal Dem.

because they are only even considered when something goes terribly wrong with the health of the mother, or of the fetus. A lot od late term abortions should not even be callled abortions, because the fetus is already dead - and decomposing.

"Late" abortions are a very small percentage of the total, and usually indicate a serious threat to the life of the mother.

he gave that inspiring speech.

Listening and watching that - we said the same thing - he will be POTUS someday.

He stood out - just like Pete stands out. He overcame the racism that was considered his biggest drawback. He won two terms as POTUS. He became one of our greatest Presidents.

His speech the other day for Kamala was spot on. He always had that ability to say the right things and relate to Americans. He hasn't lost that.

I put Pete in that same situation. In time - he too will overcome what is considered his biggest drawback - being gay.

He will emerge as a great President as well.

I'm 76y/o and I won't be around to see it - but those that will be here will have something to look forward to. I'm jealous that I'll miss that.

Life or death emergency and needs to be delivered. Think of a car wreck or heart deformity or other
Issues where they take the baby in order to try and save it. These are NOT “abortions” but a delivery to save the life of the mother and/or the child. They are quick to assume that people are “disposing of an inconvenience “ when it’s just the opposite.
They are couching it like that but most people would choose to do the same thing if it were them.
I just wish once he would mention those cases.

It reminds me of when we all talking about Terry Schiavo and the “pull the plug” argument. Was she brain dead or not? The Republicans argued to “save her life and how could the liberals be so cruel?”
In the meantime Senator Tom DeLay’s Dad was brain dead from an injury and had to be “unplugged”.
Their hypocrisy is never ending.

Some never want to give up hope or let go.

My opinion is Terri died on February 25, 1990. Modern medicine was able to interfere in that death. But it was not able to do anything about her brain loss. Terri was brain dead, which is legally, dead. Her brain stem still had some function. But that isn't life.

...abortion in the third trimester is when theres no chance of life. Its not a choice..... its medically NECESSARY to save the mother. No one has ever said 'NO there is no late term abortion' unless its medically necessary with being death imminent. And the decision is usually made very quickly..who has time to 'talk to a priest' when you're bleeding out...somewhere! In a public restroom??? In a car in the hospital parking lot?

and what does LATE term mean anyway? That's just L and D! Do they mean the very last day of 'pre- viability'? or what?

There needs to be a more defiant response and explanation of the support of this very rare and very necessary procedure..

we let them get away with using this ill defined term. My trumper sis used this term in the 90s..they actually believe it happens and we never say NO IT DOES NOT!

its medically NECESSARY to save the mother.
This is not true. Third-trimester abortions can stem from a later fetal diagnosis or even simply an inability to get to a facility that provides abortions at advanced gestational age. They don't necessarily depend on the health of the pregnant person.

..abortion in the third trimester is when theres no chance of life.
That's also not true. Third-trimester abortions often require an injection to stop the fetus' heart before its body is delivered.

No one has ever said 'NO there is no late term abortion' unless its medically necessary with being death imminent. And the decision is usually made very quickly..who has time to 'talk to a priest' when you're bleeding out...somewhere! In a public restroom??? In a car in the hospital parking lot?
Again, third-trimester abortions don't always stem from "imminent death." And third-trimester abortions can take days; they're not necessarily emergent situations.
