What kind of a Democracy is this, anyway?

We all know the regular arguments that America's Democracy is barely so.

A candidate for President of the entire country can win the popular vote by 3 million and the second-place candidate gets inaugurated. 50 Senators from one party represent 42% of the population and the other 50 represent 58%. Gerrymandering, at every level, allows a statewide vote that is nearly evenly split to send 8 out of 12 members to Congress from the party with fewer votes. A supreme court where the majority of members are appointed by Presidents who lost the popular vote and control the lives of every American.

But now this. There are overwhelming majorities in the US House of Representatives and the Senate to fund Ukraine, but we can't get a vote in the House. The same with Impeachment and funding.

If the majority of the people, and even a majority of the people's representatives, cannot implement policy, how much longer can the United States of America call itself a Democracy?

We can find that out with a discharge petition.

There are 325 votes to fund Ukraine.

Why do you think the MAGA cult doesn't want a vote?

And his New Deal. They were not charged or faced any consequences, it has brought us to where we are now.

Will there be consequences for ALL part of planning the elaborate 1/6 failed coup? Or will we allow these traitors to keep stabbing away at our Democracy.

But don't expect the gaslighting MSM to go near the topic, even if a president gets into office despite a 10 million vote deficit. Our system is a wreck.

And those who do vote wouldn't obsess about stupid things like who they "like." This is an American democracy.

Not-a-democracy. We still vote and our votes are virtually always counted.

Let Trump in and I'm sure that would change.

Please don't conflate our problems with what a dictatorship would be like.
