Who Is Responsible For A Shutdown?

First of all, I think there will be one.

Why is there even a debate? President Biden and Kevin McCarthy worked out a spending deal months ago. McCarthy is the Speaker of the House, he needs to keep his word, he made a deal.

Also, Schumer and McConnell came up with an agreement to keep the government funded with 70 Senators voting for it. McCarthy needs to bring that bill up for a vote if he is weaseling out of the deal he already made.

I heard Nancy Pelosi say that a discharge petition was not feasible to avoid a shutdown because it would take 30 days to implement.

Are we supposed to believe that President Biden or Congressional Democrats have anything to do with a shutdown?

C'mon MSM, it is obvious who will be responsible:

1. Donald Duck
2. House Magats

If McCarthy will not even bring the Senate plan to a vote, it is perfectly clear who is responsible. Chainfire Sep 2023 #11

Spending bills start in the House, as of now, the House has not passed the annual appropriations bills. The Senate can’t vote on what the House ahas not passed, the President can’t sign what has not been passed in the same form by the congress. There is only one place to logically lay the blame. That said, Fox may not agree with my simple assessment

But hopefully, the real press, not fox opinion, will hopefully lay out the simple facts. They just have to tell the truth and cite the Constitution.

Article I, Section 7

All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen for Q3 2023, MSNBC averaged 813,000 total viewers across the 24-hour day time period, which is No. 2 across all of basic cable only behind rival Fox News. The 813,000 total day viewer average represents a +2% gain from Q2 2023 and a +4% gain from the year-ago quarter (Q3 2022).

Additionally, MSNBC averaged 88,000 Adults 25-54 in total day this past quarter, which is -7% from what the network averaged in Q2 ’23, but +4% from Q2 ’22. In Q3 ’23, MSNBC averaged the same number of A25-54 viewers in total day at CNN.

Republicans can't do anything productive, but they are great at throwing a wrecking ball into the machine works.
