The angst of federal employees.

Those of you who are or have an immediate family member who is a federal employee know what I speak of.

Pissed, sad, annoyed, and frustrated. All their work will just sit not done or gathering dust for as long as these lunatics play games with peoples' lives.

Kevin McCarthy has allowed himself, through his own mediocrity and non-existent leadership skills, to be taken hostage by gang of anti-democracy a-holes. And btw, on order from, as Rep. Dan Goldman so accurately stated, "the mob boss down at Mar-A-Lago."

One of my beloved coworkers died of a heart attack. The stress was hideous.

And they have to turn everything in before they turn off the lights. They are prohibited from doing ANY work at home.

They know the games played by congress.

My dad was career US military and I would hear my parents talking about congress
holding up pay, or cutting commissary or housing benefits. When I was very young
of course this was upsetting to think we might not have food or have to leave our
base housing.

My mother would tell me not to worry, the military always works around these people,
her tone was the military always works around these jackasses.

Later as I got older I would always read the military newspaper, the Stars and Stripes,
and always shook my head when I saw that the congressional jackasses were doing
against the military on any given day.

Yes the benefits are very good but my experience with public employees is that they really feel like they are helping people.

The increase in temporarily furloughed government workers that apologized for needing services to get by was eye opening.

8. A Federal shutdown will flow down and impact some state agencies across the country.

The agency that I work for will probably have some impact and we might have to scramble to close out or reduce what projects we can to free up money. Based upon how reliant an agency is on Federal funds will determine how back the blow back will be on a state agency. We will probably be okay because our agency is good about reworking things to keep on functioning and paying people. If an agency is really reliant on Federal funds it could get bad for them if it goes too long.
