(24,906 posts)I think it would be cool to just show up with a bunch of Pizzas for all the folks on the picket line. Who wouldn't understand and love that?

(58,785 posts)Nothing this big is simple or easy, every step in every direction having big adverse consequences that have to be foreseen and weighed, but for a president to join a picket line is taking a strong stand.

(82,849 posts)Don't get bogged down in the details of how much someone made back in nineteen-aught-ninety-three or the cost of flibberdigibbets. The auto companies have made a LOT of money since the taxpayers bailed them out. They've even spent $66 billion buying back their own stock. All that wealth was created by the workers; they deserve their fair share of the value.

(5,305 posts)I dont think that has ever happened before.
Ive been rereading Howard Zinn and this is diametrically opposed to most Presidents. Most politicians are there to, at minimum, maintain the status quo, and preferably build state governance to aid the advancement of capital and the oligarchic class that possesses it.

(1,669 posts)Presidents seem to do more for the common people, the Repukes seem to want to grind others under their heels ? We have the same problem here the Conservative Party would do the same, piss on the working stiffs.

(271 posts)In America today, Big businesses only goal, is to make as big a profit as possible with the lowest costs. They will always fight paying their workers any kind of pay, let alone a good middle class wage and the ONLY ones working for the workers are unions. My area of the country has many union shops that pay decent wages and force the non-union shops to pay their people more than they want and complain and fund an anti union newspaper. Our current local republican representatives are anti union but only state it when they are in a safe group..

(12,361 posts)Biden has always been a people person reaching out, empathizing, embracing. The President walking the picket line should be a big boost to everyone.
And isn't Agent Orange also flying to Michigan on Tuesday??
LOL. Take it to him, Joe!
