Washington PostAs the civilian leaders of the Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Army, we are proud to work alongside exceptional military leaders who are skilled, motivated and empowered to protect our national security.
These officers and the millions of service members they lead are the foundation of Americas enduring military advantage. Yet this foundation is being actively eroded by the actions of a single U.S. senator, Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), who is blocking the confirmation of our most senior military officers.
The senator asserts that this blanket and unprecedented hold, which he has maintained for more than six months, is about opposition to Defense Department policies that ensure service members and their families have access to reproductive health no matter where they are stationed.
After the Supreme Courts decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Womens Health Organization, this policy is critical and necessary to meet our obligations to the force. It is also fully within the law, as confirmed by the Justice Departments Office of Legal Counsel.
Carlos Del Toro is secretary of the Navy. Frank Kendall is secretary of the Air Force. Christine Wormuth is secretary of the Army.

Fuck Tommy Tuberville, fuck the people that voted for him, and fuck Fox News for installing him.

How can this be?
Seems counterproductive to governing and playing politics with our National Defense system.
Tommy Tuberville is a soiled spud!

(24,392 posts)3. Could it be Tommy the Turd wants a GZP president to pick top ranks?
Jeffrey Clark, a top Justice Department official under Trump, was prepared to use the Insurrection Act of 1807 to put down any public protests that might have occurred if Trump stayed in office after the 2020 election, against the will of the people.

What can force him to back down? He is an Anti-abortion Extremist; he knows his cause is just.
Get used to it, DoD. Muddle through.
