Trump seems to be double-dog daring Judge Chutkan to lock him up before the trial. She should

The federal judge in the Jan. 6th federal indictment, warned Trump last Friday what he couldn't say in regards to protecting witnesses and tainting a jury in his upcoming trial. His diatribes over the past five days have been a major "Fuck You" to Judge Chutkan.

Judge Chutkin appears to be a no nonsense lady and Trump may soon find himself in an Orange prison outfit. And, wonder of wonders, she really does have the power to lock him up.

Whatever (Trump) actually thinks (about defying the judge's order), “pushing the envelope” doesn’t come close to describing how he’s treating the behavioral boundaries set by Judge Tanya Chutkan. Given the judge’s crystal clear warnings, Trump might as well be screeching “nyah, nyah, nyah” like a playground dare every time he mouths off with some faux macho intimidation, something past history would suggest he is hard-wired to do.

At some point, a threat must be exercised or the power of future threats is vapor. If Trump keeps it up, Chutkan will have little choice but to call his dare and make good on her warnings.

-- snip --

If Trump continues to flip off the judicial warnings, then he should be detained and treated just like any people housed in pretrial lock-up. It’s unlikely they all get unlimited access to the Internet megaphone.

As soon as he's detained, the lawsuits will fly. As will screams for recusal, change of venue. This is a caged monster who will stop at nothing.

earlier which would be the worst thing that could happen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see his counsel walk. In effect, that would lock him up but good.

Georgia might take care of that on Friday the 25th.

Georgia law requires defendants to convince the court that, if released, they will not commit a crime, flee, or threaten or intimidate witnesses, jurors, and officers of the court.

How is Trump going to convince a court that he will not threaten the judge, witnesses, and jury when he has spent the past several weeks doing just that?

She's probably waiting for the next hearing and any motions Smith will file about the matter. That's the smart thing to do.

Seems to me that she is the one that issued the warning and she's the one that can throw him into pretrial lockup if she decides to do so.

Judge Chutkin has shown great restraint. And Trump is spitting, not only in her face, but also, her authority. I doubt she needs anyone's permission to hold him in contempt of her rules and actually have him put in a jail cell.
