Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who is running for the GOP presidential nomination against Donald Trump, and who voted against impeaching Trump in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack, said he’s “concerned about the weaponization” of the Justice Department, a claim that many of the former president’s supporters have used to defend him against the multiple investigations he faces.

“What we see today are two different tracks of justice,” Scott said in a tweet. “One for political opponents and another for the son of the current president.”
