SAN JOSE -- A man went on a deadly rampage Thursday in Milpitas and San Jose, stabbing at least three people and striking three others with a vehicle that was carjacked, police said. At least three victims have died and two others have life-threatening injuries.

San Jose police said two stabbing attacks occurred minutes apart in the southwestern portion of the city. The first incident took place at Kooser Road and Dellwood Way near Blossom Hill Road in the city's Pepper Tree neighborhood. Officers responded at about 3:11 p.m. and found one victim stabbed with life-threatening injuries.

Bay Area officials arrested a man on Thursday who they said went on a multi-city crime spree, stabbing and killing three people and hitting another person with a vehicle.

The first stabbing happened at Kooser Road and Dellwood Way at 3:11 p.m., the San Jose Police Department said. Officers then went to the 1800 block of Hillsdale Avenue, where a second person was stabbed and carjacked. Both of those stabbing victims died.


At some point, while driving away from where the second stabbing happened, police said the man hit a pedestrian with the stolen vehicle. That person is expected to survive.

The Milpitas Police Department said it believes a person its officers arrested is also responsible for the San Jose stabbings. At 4:32 p.m., it got a 911 call about a stabbing in a shopping center parking lot near the 400 block of Jacklin Road. The first officer who got there tried giving first aid to the victim.

That third stabbing victim was transported to a hospital where they later died of their injuries, Milpitas police said. Officers found and arrested that man in a neighborhood near where the third stabbing happened.

It is unknown what motive there was for the crime spree, and police have also not released the name of the suspected attacker.
