"SNIP........

“West Virginia political observers were not surprised when Sen. Joe Manchin appeared on Fox News on Monday to make a stunning threat: He could be persuaded to vote to repeal his own bill, the Inflation Reduction Act, if the Biden administration pushed him far enough,” CNN reports.

“The conservative Democratic senator reiterated this to CNN, saying he would ‘look for every opportunity to repeal my own bill’ if the administration continued to use the IRA to steer the US quickly towards the clean energy transition and away from fossil fuels.”

The sooner we get a couple more Democratic Senators I really just want to tell Manchin to go pound coal. He should be promoting renewable energy, which will create far more jobs in the long run, in his state. Is he too short-sighted to realise that or is this about protecting the doomed family business.

of our party with his posturing for a small chunk of mouthbreathing Rethugs back in WV than he is aiding himself in what is probably going to be a fairly large loss to Justice, who has outflanked Manchin on the left (Justice is on record supporting mich of the Biden frameworks for the BIF and BBB, the ones Manchin and Sinema, with help from the conservative and/or centrist Dems in the Hpise Problems Solvers Caucus helped to eviscerate) and the right.

Manchin is a walking, talking RW talking points machine with that Democratic Party label cover to add legitimacy for the Rethugs attack adverts that will be cut using his anti Democratic Party agenda smears.

Folks here realize that Biden would veto any repeal, correct? And folks also realize that we want Manchin to win reelection, right?

Think it through.

with his constant undermining (in this case an ex post facto undercutting of a bill HE HIMSELF VOTED FOR) of Biden and the party's (as a whole) messaging AND even our hard-won, wonderful legislative accomplishments.

As a Democratic caucus member himself, that fact lends a certain weight to his RW talking point typology of attack. It gives undue perceived legitimacy for the Rethugs to take Manchin's words/criticisms and then to attack Biden and the Party as a whole with a 'see even your own party member think it is shit' line of bollocks.
