I know this because it happened to bullies in schools I attended. And that was with families who were involved with their kids and did care about them. I was surprised to hear she is 79. She's a few years older than trump but looks a decade younger than he does, if not more.

On many of the news shows tonight they are saying this is a "he said" / "she said." I thought there was DNA evidence. Also she contacted two friends within a short time of the rape, and that is on the record.

But I don't think all those women who don't report, who say nothing, who try to forget are not brave. I think the fact that those women get up every day and live their lives means they're unbelievably brave.

E Jean Carrol has said the thing she wants is her day in court. She wants to tell her story. That is how she is dealing with the rape that was perpetrated against her. I am amazed at how hard she has worked to get here and at the sheer will she has shown in doing it. I am so happy to see her doing what she set out to do. This is a victory for her, no matter how it comes out.

I wish equal victories, in their own terms, for all the women who have to deal with the aftermaths of rapes. For some that will mean telling the world. For some it will not.
