WATCH: “What Does Your Federal Law Nullification Bill Do?”

Rep. Bud Hulsey (R-Kingsport) tells us his bill would let Tennessee decide not to follow “unconstitutional” laws — the 100+ employee COVID vaccine mandate was the first thing that came to his mind as an example.

Pull out federal buildings and military bases, unless they are considered necessary.

I guess it very well could if you got the right/wrong administration. I think those of us in states where pot is legal understand that it could still be prosecuted at the federal level. But the federal government could take a different strategy and say if you legalize pot you don't get road or other infrastructure money. I remember when the drinking age was increased to 21, congress mandated that states adopt the federal drinking age or that state would have highway funds withheld.

The biggest base in Tennessee is Fort Campbell, which is only called "Kentucky" because the post office is slightly north of the state line - most of the base is in Tennessee.

to nullify unconstitutional laws. It's called the Supreme Court. If Sheriffs, members of congress, local elected officials, etc. had the right to decde what was constitutional, we wouldn't need the Supreme Court.

this is the sort of crap that is included in their dreams about States Rights.

It's sad that roughly 250 years after the Federalism vs. Anti-Federalism Debate, literally after centuries of that question resting as settled, the unhappy greedy rabble push it again.

I mostly blame the billionaires pushing their toxic anti-social models of capitalism that depend upon dreams of donation-captured legislatures producing fief-like havens for wealth creation through absence of responsible federal regulations, fair fees and taxes.
