Fox seems no longer worried about credibility.
The story about Dominion's lawsuit and the discovery (in the legal sense) of e-mails between hosts and management showing there was no basis for casting doubt on the 2020 election and then directly lying to their audience was the biggest media story of the past week yet Howard Kurtz, who presents himself as a quasi-objective Fox host, didn't even mention it.
Thus Fox executives, who are now running all of the news side of the operation, made the calculating that disclosing even the possibility their hosts lied (thereby treating their viewers with contempt) would hurt the station even more than ignoring it (thereby squaring the contempt). After all their polls tell them that only a small percent of their viewers will listen to other news sources, and a large percent of these are evidence-free mentalities.
So now they're even more obvious. So what?

(130,533 posts)an on-air acknowledgement, repeated by all the Fox talking heads who repeated the lie, that they did lie when they claimed the election was stolen and the Dominion machines were part of the plot; that they knew they were lying and they did it to satisfy and keep their viewers so they wouldn't lose market share and money to OAN and Newsmax. Otherwise Fox' viewers will never know the truth. Maybe they won't believe it anyhow but at least they'll hear it.
