Missouri republicans first amendment to house rules is to make stricter rules on what women can wear

https://www.riverfronttimes.com/news/missouri-republicans-have-found-their-post-roe-enemy-cardigans-39259210

Missouri Republicans Have Found Their Post-Roe Enemy: Cardigans
Missouri Republicans aren't done telling women what to do with their bodies

Peter Merideth (D-St. Louis) shared the news on Twitter, "Debating the house rules on the floor today, and the first amendment offered by a Republican is about making stricter the rules of what women have to wear in here."

--------

Lawmakers can change the House dress code every two years. Previously, the dress code stated that women could wear "dresses or skirts or slacks worn with a blazer or sweater and appropriate dress shoes or boots." The rules require women to wear a second layer over a dress or top, and some lawmakers preferred to wear shawls or other items that weren't jackets. The madness had to be stopped.

The proposed dress code says "proper attire for women shall be business attire, including jackets worn with dresses, skirts, or slacks and dress shoes or boots." But Representative Brenda Shields (R-St. Joseph) suggested they amend the dress code to allow cardigans to count as jackets, which led to a seemingly ludicrous debate, Representative Jamie Johnson (D-Kansas City) detailed on Twitter.

Because they are horribly insecure and really have no self-esteem. Face it, more puke "males" are toads that only have a spouse because their interbreeding circle is from a so-called religion.

They hate us because we won't always "fluff'" on command, they fear us taking control of our bodies because they want us to be nothing more than baby machines, producing poor children, with no education or health care, who will work for pennies. Birth control and abortion threaten their desired plentiful supply of ultra cheap labor.

I'd like to see the whole dress code. If the men are required to wear suit jackets, then I can see how that could be viewed as a form of inequity. But that would just be the excuse for the real reason for the change: for men to control women's bodies.

Isn't a business dress proper business attire without a jacket over it?

If they're going to do BS like this, why don't they just state that everyone in the body is required to wear a suit with pants that cover your entire leg?

So, it isn't just you.
And, I wasn't a clothing conformist. I was the guy that wore gray on gray or olive double breastfed suits with a yellow shirt when everyone was wearing blue pinstripe 3 button. I wore Brutini slip-ons when others wore Florsheim wingtips.
But, I agree on sleeveless for business dress.

I was testifying as an expert witness in a $90 million intellectual property lawsuit. (Our company was not involved. I was "on loan" to a big customer. )
Their chief counsel really liked me, but their CMO not so much.
They changed the witness order suddenly and the lead litigator said to get ready for the stand.
I came down in a dark gray suit with fine burgundy threading, a white shirt & striped tir.
CMO says, "I was worried you'd come down wearing Italian shoes or something." I Saud "These are Italian shoes. So is the suit."
I crushed my testimony and their side won, so there was never another snide word.

A pantsuit. In the 1980’s I worked for an investment banking firm and you couldn’t wear pants. Now these repukes want to make a dress code for women 40+ years later. The repukes really want to put women back in the home cooking dinner and only raising children.

That genie in the bottle is not going to go back in repukes!

She waited a few weeks and wore them again.

Could Pants for the cold spell. The room got silent and he finally said we could wear pants the next day 3/4 of the women in the firm wore pants. I left that firm and went to another firm who was ok with pants. The funny thing is women started pushing back at the old firm and started wearing pants. I knew I was leaving that old firm so I didn’t care what the manager thought or repercussions!

Becasue if I recall from another article I read about this the dress code for the men does not allowed to wear just a dress shirt for example and they must wear a shirt with a jacket and tie.
