He has other interests which require his attention. As Tesla stockholders have noticed!

Tesla investors tell Elon Musk to stop wasting time on Twitter as his erratic tweets prompt them to sell shares

Elon Musk composite with Twitter and Tesla logos
Elon Musk is the CEO of both Twitter and Tesla.
Elon Musk's tweets about politics and memes have dented some investors' confidence in him.
Tesla shareholders spoke to Bloomberg about their concerns that Musk has become too erratic.
But one said he's better off making mistakes at Twitter rather than Tesla.

Elon Musk's controversial tweets about politics and memes have prompted some Tesla investors to sell their shares, Bloomberg reported.
The world's richest person who briefly lost the title this week often tweets late at night. At 2:30 a.m. PT on Wednesday, he shared a clip from the 1984 David Lynch film "Dune" in an apparent reference to his ownership of multiple companies.
He often uses Twitter to weigh in on politics, too, like calling The New York Times' union walkout "Woke v Woke" at 1:44 a.m. on Thursday.
And then there's the confusing memes, such as trolling with the "Pepe the Frog" character a meme that has served as a symbol for the alt-right.

I hope Tesla can break from him and become an independent company making amazing cars.

(28,493 posts)So how can he possibly be selling the stock? What am I missing.
On Thanksgiving Day I rode with a friend in a Tesla about two hours to have T-Day with friends of ours. Good friends, good day. But I was less than impressed with the Tesla. It had various weird things. It didn't help that my friend, over age 60, had only finally learned to drive after his wife, the driver of the family, died three years ago. Her death was sad, and I helped him clear out stuff from their house, along with some other friends.
He needed to learn to drive just to get around. For several weeks, while he was gaining driving skills, I drove him, various places, such as to the grocery store. I'm honestly glad I could help him.
Many years ago I observed that if someone doesn't learn to drive by about age 21, they will never be a good driver. Heck, they won't even be a base-line adequate driver. Which is why I pushed my son, who'd had almost zero interest in learning to drive, to learn. He was 20 years old, living back at home after flunking out of college, now attending the local community college. I told him he needed to learn to drive, needed to acquire his own car, because I was not about to drive him to and from school indefinitely.
I helped him buy a car. He learned to drive. He then transitioned to a stick shift (hooray!) and turned out to be a very good and skilled driver.
