"SNIP.......

David Weigel: “The age of de-platforming might be over, making way for Musk’s version of free speech. But it also comes at a moment when the Republican Party is more worried about the political consequences of its ties to extremism than almost any time since 2016. Donald Trump’s dinner with three men banned or suspended from Twitter under the old rules — rapper Ye, white supremacist podcaster Nick Fuentes, and Milo Yiannopoulos — reminds people of what Musk’s predecessors kept a lid on.”

Said strategist Melissa Ryan: “It’s going to suck for Republicans. Some of these guys are going to go hog wild as soon as they can.”

It's good for majority empowerment (democracy) to have the fringe elements, their numbers, and their meme sets visible.

Twitter is not a democracy. You enrich and empower a Nazi by staying behind. I've heard all the excuses. They're bullshit.

Otherwise reasonable Democrat's love affair with corporate social (engineering) media and fake online "clout" will forever boggle my mind. You CAN leave Twitter and FB. You just don't want to

No social media platform is. Heck, even the US isn't really a democracy any more.

Have a nice day.

Hopefully it’ll tie them in nots with endless internal warfare, while we happily proceed to get more done for the greater good.

6. Milo Yiannopoulos was at that dinner, too?

This is the first I've heard about that. I've been hearing about him having dinner with the other two for days, but no mention of Milo. What a gruesome threescore.

If Eloon is really letting all the crazies come back to Twitter, maybe it's time for me to finally deactivate my account, or whatever the term is. I hardly ever go there as it is, and I don't want to go there at all if it's going to be overflowing with hate and bigotry.
