Some meteor showers are really unpredictable - Back in November 1999, I was lucky enough to catch the Leonid meteor storm - after 1 AM, for periods of time it was as if the earth were driving through a snowstorm, with meteors in the hundreds per hour (my wife and daughter and lots of people were out there with me expressing disbelief!).
Here is the Astronomy mag article which talks about when there could be a few really impressive numbers - most of the time there are no more than 10-15 per hour. It also could be a dud - and it also could be impacted by the moon, or clouds.
But - still - if the estimated 250 per hour burst happens, that would really be something.

I'll always remember that and look forward to the one you made me aware of (if it can be seen in the SW).
