The J6 Committee ends with the new Congress, but what about all its investigative work? If the Dems lose the House as predicted, does it stop?

(3,344 posts)The Senate could also start up a committee if Democrats retain control. Otherwise, it is up to the new speaker of the house to start a committee - and we know what that would look like.

(13,283 posts)They have enough to make a public statement and issue a written report for the record, but neither is enough for DOJ to indict. Their evidence is a big effing deal regardless, but it doesn't necessarily meet the legal standards required for an indictment.

(13,283 posts)That's exactly what I was saying. Evidence in itself is just part of an indictment. It is not enough to indict. There is a well defined process that needs to be followed if DOJ doesn't want this evidence thrown out by a judge, or successfully challenged by the defense, or rejected by a jury. And all evidence suggests that DOJ is relentlessly and methodically following this process.
On edit: the J6 Committee doesn't have to follow this process.

Oh, and they will try to impeach at least three or four times. Got to retaliate for the Pig of course.

They will form their own committee and negate all the work.
