Can someone please give me the cliff notes version of where we are in the Senate and the House?

Haven’t been able to keep up today.

I know about Georgia and the Senate runoff. But what else? Where do we stand count-wise?

Thank you VERY VERY MUCH!!!

Then Georgia win would give us 51.

The house is still counting. Not exactly sure where we are

GOP 49-48 in the Senate

3 races remain

AZ
NV
GA

According to 538, GOP have a solid 214 House seats right now, closing in on 218

We need 2 of NV AZ and GA to keep control. AZ looks really good... NV pretty dicey Cortez Masto has to make up a lot of ground with mail in ballots. If we dont get NV and AZ holds then control will be decided in GA in a month

The Senate looks to be 49 Democrats and 49 Republicans (I’m giving Arizona to Kelly, so he’s the 49th D).
Two states, Nevada and Georgia, remain in limbo.
Nevada: Cortez Masto winning is still a possibility, but it would be by the slimmest of margins. If she pulls it out, Democrats have 50 and retain Senate control. If she loses, Republicans are at 50 and we go to…
Georgia: Warnock finished ever so slightly ahead of Walker, but neither hit the required “50%+1 vote” threshold, so there will be a runoff in December.
It would be great if we didn’t need Georgia again, but worst case scenario in my view, we go to a runoff and retain Senate control with Warnock winning.

Things are a little clearer in the House. Pre-midterm, there were 220 Democrats and 212 Republicans.
There are still several races labeled as “tossups“, but various projections suggest, on average, that the make up of the House will be 225 Republicans and 210 Democrats after all the votes are counted. Not great, but +13 for Republicans is nowhere near the 35–40 Red Wave seat pick up talked about as recently as yesterday morning.

It's not a red tsunami, but it is a red wave in the house. A small wave, but still a wave.

Trust me, they will do damage.
They will hold hearing after hearing for trivial things..

They will now control every single committee in the House.

Remember Benghazi hearing? Remember the IRS hearings? Remember Eric Holder and the "run gunner" hearings?
What did those hearings accomplish? It hurt Democrats. It hurt Hillary. It paved the way for more GOP control.

The hearings are one big infomercial for the GOP.
